A medical herbalist is trained in the same diagnostic and clinical examination skills as a General Practitioner (GP).

The initial consultation normally lasts for an hour (subsequent appointments are shorter) so that I can build a complete picture of your health. Details taken include a description of the existing complaint as well as information about allergies, family medical history, current medication, vitamins and supplements. A clinical examination may be carried out; which may, for example, include measuring blood pressure or taking a pulse.

I will then develop an individual plan for you. This will include diet and lifestyle advice as well as your herbal prescription. Herbs are dispensed as tinctures, herbal teas, tablets, ointments, creams or lotions.

Herbal medicines may take longer to work than conventional drugs. They can be used concurrent with conventional medication for a large number of health problems. They are effective and safe for people of any age, including children.
